|

Myself and a few other members were in UD Strat the other day, and, as conversations are prone to do, it shuffled around to "Cool Things GP Should Do." One idea that came up is the theory of World Dragon runs. We were thinking we could try a couple practice runs, and maybe, if the officers would approve it, a dkp association with it. I think this sounds like a great idea, and would be more than willing to try and organize one.
Please sound off on what you think of this idea. Things like when we should go, how we pick our target de jour, and what we think of a dkp idea. _________________ Therion, Lonestalka, Theriondeux, Crimsonfang, Iceshard, Shadothief. Did I leave anyone out? |

We have always wanted to do this, I know Azuregos is a big target for a few people in here. There is one catch. This is not something that can be just scheduled. They spawn roughly once a week at a random time and day. And they are HUGELY competitive. Generally, depending on the time of day, once they spawn they are all killed by the uber AQ40+ guilds within an hour. Also there is a ton of drama associated with this, ask Dafreak Finally they are first come first serve so whoever tags them first gets it. I just can not see us getting a group of 40 people togeather and ready to start before another guild gets underway. And if we did happen to get the tag if we wiped someone else will be waiting to pick it up. It is a very daunting task to go after world bosses and I think it would cause more problems than help to do it. However if you happen to be online when they spawn, there will be an emote sent to everyone in the area of the dragon, start hollering cause I know I would give it a shot. _________________ Check out my Radness

There are four world dragons, as well as Azuregos, Lord Kazzak, and Terminus the Destroyer, who is kind of a pseudo world boss. I am figuring that one of these targets will be up at any given time, so if we schedule a world boss run, we could have samll groups involving warlocks scout each location and summon the raid to which ever target is available. Does this idea seem reasonable?
I was also thinking world boss runs would be a good idea due to the relative short time needed to kill them. That allows some of our members with limited game time to participate in raid level events. _________________ Therion, Lonestalka, Theriondeux, Crimsonfang, Iceshard, Shadothief. If we can get people togehter to try, then why not. Telp does make a good point about the some of the bosses. If for some reason we do not get enough on to take a world boss we can always get that group to do some out PvP. Oh the good old days at TM. _________________ NO! I will not innervate you. If you are really serious about getting some world spawns I would make a few suggestions:
1. Place (at least) lvl 1 alts in their spawn locations so that you can check easily. If you can, place lvl 20 warlocks with l ots of soulshards as well so you can begin summoning the raid there.
2. Kazzak is really hard to get to, so summoning is almost a must.
3. Kazzak and Azuregos are pretty easy, the 4 green dragons are pretty hard. Emeriss and Lethon you probably shouldn't even consider, They are extremely hard to do if you aren't in an uber guild. (especially Emeriss). Ysondre and Taerar you could probably do, but you'll need a lot of healers and 4 tanks (for taerar).
4. You won't need a full 40 for azuregos or Kazzak. Kazzak can be 15manned by an MC guild who knows what they are doing. Azuregos you'll probably need 25+ but he's not too bad.
5. The weird dragon guy in the blasted lands who is a sorta world boss doesn't really drop much of anything worthwhile.
I've done quite a few of these world spawns so I've kinda seen what works. Also, with the green dragons and Azuregos, be very careful not to engage them on accident while the raid is forming, because if you die you will recieve a debuff that prevents you from making an attempt at the boss for 15 minnutes. Kazzak may do this too but I've never wiped to him so I don't know (he's really easy). _________________ Shayl - lvl 60 priest -> http://www.ctprofiles.net/2359676
