| This thread is for discussing gear. What stats and configurations work well for you, and why? |

Ok, I'm bored at work, so I'll post under this section even though I'm probably the least qualified shammie in GP!
For a shammie, the most important stat is INT. Spells (especially shocks) and totems are the bread and butter of this class but are very mana intensive. Having a higher intellect will allow you to cast more and deal more damage/heal more people.
Secondary are STA and SPI for durability and quicker regeneration, respectively. Lately, I've been trying to get some gear with some AGI on it as well. This will help me in case I need to be the off-tank as it increases armor and my chance to dodge and crit with my melee weapon. |

Good call on the INT and STAM. Any melee-er is gonna need the STAM, and shocks are mana hogs, and shammies don't get the biggest mana pool to begin with, so INT is a must.
I think the AGI is also pretty necessary for an Enhancement or melee-involved shammy (Was that redundant? What shammy won't mix it up in melee? ). Extra crits are good. Anybody know if AGI affects the frequency of other abilities proccing, like windfury? |

As an elemental shaman with enhancement to help defend my scrawny troll ass. Int is king for 2/3 of shaman builds for not only the mana pool, but also the +%chance to crit. I lean twards sta next for stats. Sprit is nice, especially questing & farming, but it will do very little for you in a battle. As a shaman you are fighting&shocking all the time, and usually your casting downtime is filled with melee swings; made more possible by personal durability. I place agility next not only for higher +def, it is there also for the % chance to melee crit. Str next for harder hits and lastly sprit. For enchancement agility is very nice. Str and sta are very good as well, however increaced %chance to crit, dodge & having more armor lets you melee like a pro. As for talents, agi will not make your windfury proc more, but it will make your thundering strikes (chance to melee crit) and your flurry (+attack speed after crit) much more effective. _________________ I'll have plenty of time to sleep when I'm dead |

May I just point out why the shaman area is Dos's domain?
At the time of this writing, on the guild Roster...
Only Sassa has more INT than Dos.
Only Banner and Gerg (and now Ahnjin)--the tanks--have more STAM.
Dos is tied with Taho for most SPIRIT.
I happen to know he has a sweet set of mana regen/tick.
His total attribute points (INT, STAM, SPIRIT,....etc.) is 1089. Next closest person has 929, and the rest of the guild is under 900.
What a freakin' HOSS! |

Note: My stam was buffed in those numbers. I had a lovely priestess (Sass) put PW:Fortitude on me.
Now, get off my lawn! |
